Neco Williams and Moussa Niakhate were both forced off with injuries in Forest’s 3-1 win over Brighton.

Despite a fantastic result for Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, the injury woes that have haunted them continue with two players forced off.

Moussa Niakhate, who’s long throw-ins have added something extra to Forest’s attacking approach, was subbed after 14 minutes with a hamstring injury:

“Moussa said he felt his hamstring, so we’ll have to see.” Cooper confirmed after the game.

The former Mainz captain has missed a significant portion of this season with the same issue, and his return has been a welcome addition to Forest’s depleted back line.

Sadly, Neco Williams, whose barnstorming attacking run saw him win Forest’s first penalty, was stretchered off in the 60th minute.

It came after a brave headed effort saw him collide with Forest teammate Brennan Johnson. Medical staff were quick to respond but Williams appeared to be in a lot of discomfort.

Here what Forest’s head coach had to say after the game:

“I’m not too sure (on the exact injury) but I did catch a glimpse of him coming off. I saw blood so fingers crossed that its not too bad. His health obviously comes first regardless of results.”

Cooper then went on to confim Williams had been taken to hospital.

Williams has impressed fans with his performances lately . His defending has improved and he has become increasingly threatening on the attacking side of the game.

He scored in Forest’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool and came close to scoring today, with his shot from the edge of the area narrowly missing the target in the second half.

The Welsh international received a standing ovation and has been praised for his performance tonight, with fans also wishing him a speedy recovery.
