Keylor Navas couldn’t keep it out, but Forest complained that Yoane Wissa was blocking Navas’ field of vision from an offside position.

VAR determined that Ryan Yates toe was ahead of Wissa’s knee, therefore giving Brentford a late winner, much to the dismay of Forest fans.

What has caused greater confusion for some, is that Wissa’s arm is clearly beyond Yates’ foot, but this was not taken into consideration for the decision, which ultimately cost Forest a vital point in their fight for Premier League survival.

As you can see below the decision has divided Forest fans.

What has also come under question is the decision to replace Taiwo Awoniyi with Andre Ayew, who offered very little in his 37 minute cameo.

Against Brighton, Ayew put in a bright performance off the bench as Forest surged to victory, but was absent today, losing possession and picking up a yellow card within two minutes of coming on.

This meant Forest had no outlet going forward, and invited pressure from Brentford which ultimately lead to their two goals.

When Forest were ahead, Danilo won the ball back in Brentford’s half and put the ball into Ayew’s path, who ran directly into Brentford defender Ben Mee, despite having other options available.

Despite the dissapointing result, on the whole Forest defended solidly and put in another strong away performance.
