Schools have changed considerably over the years, from teaching methods to the food served at dinner time.
Those who attended school 30 or 40 years ago had a very different experience to the pupils of 2026, though some would argue that the whole experience was better back then.
One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the willingness for school staff to capture important memories on camera.
From sports days to award ceremonies, these photos now act as historical artefacts providing a snapshot of life several decades ago.
Here at Nottingham World we love nothing more than taking you, our readers, on a trip down memory lane, which is why we’ve dug out nearly 30 cracking photos of Nottinghamshire school days in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
The majority are from schools in the north of the county, but even if you didn’t attend one of the schools pictured you still might spot a familiar face or two!
