Jump in our time machine and travel back 30 years!

Unlike the two or three decades before, the 1990s are generally looked back on as a positive time in English history

Following the resignation of Margaret Thatcher on November 28, 1990, all corners of the country were seemingly reinvigorated by a wave of optimism.

The ‘90s was a time where music, pop culture, and politics joined forces, providing young people with some much-needed optimism in the wake of social unrest in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

If you were around in Nottingham in the early ‘90s then chances are one of your main memories is of legendary Forest manager Brian Clough leaving the club after 18 years in charge.

On May 8, 1993, Clough’s time at the City Ground came to an end as his side was relegated from the Premier League.

Those memories of Clough, wearing his iconic green jumper, completing a lap of appreciation at the City Ground will never be forgotten by the Forest faithful.

We’ve picked out 10 photos that will take you back to life in Nottingham in the early ‘90s.

Join us for a trip down memory lane as we revisit a time of Ceefax, Oasis, and Panda Pops!
