Winter pubs: These three Nottingham pubs are among the ‘cosiest in the UK’, according to new study
Three Nottingham pubs have been named among the cosiest in the UK by a new study.
GG.co.uk has created a handy list of the best-rated pubs with fireplaces in 73 major UK towns and cities.
Experts analysed Google ratings and pub information available through UseYourLocal.com across every town and city with populations of at least 100,000.
Each town or city then received an overall cosiness score based on how many of these pubs with real fire also featured large TV screens, showed horse racing, football, cricket or rugby or had a Sky Sport or TNT Sports connection.
What are the cosiest pubs in Nottingham?
Here in Nottingham, the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem - which claims to be England’s oldest inn - was named as the city’s cosiest pub.
It was closely followed by the Chestnut, in Radcliffe on Trent, and the Plough Inn, located in Normanton on the Wolds.
Nottingham received an overall cosiness score of 52.30/100, which ranked higher than cities including Newcastle and Norwich.
According to the analysis, Nottingham has 10.67 pubs with fireplaces per 100,000 residents.
