A festival due to be held at Wollaton Park has been postponed.

The Azaadi Kite Festival, scheduled for this Sunday (August 11), will no longer take place.

The event, which celebrates the culture of India and Pakistan with games, food and entertainment, was also held last year.

In a statement posted on Facebook, organisers said: “Kite Festival at Wollaton Park this weekend is postponed and we are currently working with event organisers to confirm the new date.

“All visitors with tickets are in the process of being notified by the ticket organiser (by email) - and we will keep you updated with a new date in due course.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused - and thank you for your patience and understanding.”

The festival has been organised in partnership with Nottingham City Council and Arts Council England.
