A Nottingham city centre road is closed as Storm Eowyn's winds damage a building, with police urging drivers to avoid the area and firefighters attending the scene.

A road in Nottingham city centre has been closed due to wind damage to a building, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

Officers cordoned off Queen's Road, near the city's railway station, at 3pm on Friday after receiving reports of an apartment building's roof being in a dangerous condition.

The closure was implemented to allow firefighters to safely attend the scene. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
