Nottingham response officers recognised Aaron Lancaster as they passed him in a police car on Main Street in Bulwell on Saturday, May 6. An image of the 32-year-old’s image had been circulated to police officers after the man had failed to appear in court over drug offences.
The officers approached the man but he gave a false man when they attempted to question him to persuade them they were mistaken. A PCSO who had direct dealings with the suspect was called to the scene and they were able to confirm that he was the wanted man.

Lancaster was remanded in custody and later appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 8, charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty, common assault of an emergency worker, two counts of possession of a Class A drug and possession of a class C drug.
He pleaded guilty to all counts and will be sentenced at a later date.
Chief Inspector Arnie Ahmed, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Failing to appear in court is a serious offence and I am pleased we have been able to detain Lancaster.

“We will continue to carry out proactive patrols as part of our ongoing efforts to clamp down on crime.”
