Disruption to rail services after 'person hit by train' near Newark

A person has been “hit by a train” causing disruption to rail services from Newark.
East Midlands Railway said the incident happened between Lincoln and Newark Castle station, disrupting trains on the Leicester, Lincoln, Grimsby and Newark Northgate - Lincoln routes.

Hide AdEmergency services are at the scene managing the collision following an announcement at 10.55am on Monday, November 6.
Trains cannot run in both directions between Lincoln and Newark Castle and Newark Northgate, the train operator said.
Services between Leicester and Newark Castle “can run normally”, they added.
East Midlands Railway said the line is expected to remain shut for the next three hours and hopes to resume services around 2.30pm.

Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Newark Castle - Newark Northgate and Lincoln to connect with train services.
