Nottingham's top 10 primary schools with the highest attendance rates - where pupils miss the least class

The best-performing primary school had an overall absence rate of just 2.7% between 2023 and 2024

The Nottingham primary schools where pupils have the best attendance rates have been revealed in new data.

It’s no secret that missing classes can have a significant impact on learning for primary school pupils.

A recent Department for Education report found that attendance has close ties to pupil attainment, even in the early primary school days.

It found that pupils who attended school nearly every day in Year 6 were 1.3 times more likely to meet the government’s expected standards in reading, writing and maths compared to pupils who only attended 90-95% of the time.

This means missing just 10 days of school cuts down their chances by around 25%.

The government’s latest figures cover the 2023/24 school year and provide insight into the Nottingham schools with the best rates of attendance.

The figures relate to the percentage of possible mornings or afternoons recorded as an absence from school for whatever reason, whether authorised or unauthorised.
