A once-popular Nottingham city centre hotel remains derelict more than two-and-a-half years after a devastating fire.
The Strathdon Hotel, in Derby Road, closed shortly after a large fire ripped through the premises in August 2021.
Now, nearly three years on from the blaze, the former hotel appears in a sorry state, with no word on any potential renovation.
When Nottingham World visited the site earlier this month, each of the building’s lower windows and access points remained covered by metal sheeting - some of which had been vandalised.
While the majority of the hotel’s windows remained intact, at least one had been boarded up and another smashed.
An occupied ‘dog security’ van could be seen parked on the Derby Road side of the hotel, near a closed-off staircase that once led into the building.
An entrance leading to the former on-site restaurant, Bar44, was also covered by metal sheeting and appeared weathered after nearly three years of neglect..
With 68 rooms, the Strathdon Hotel opened in 1970 and had a three-star rating at the time of its closure.
