May the 4th: Star Wars characters to march through Nottingham city centre ahead of Em-Con - route and timings
Star Wars characters are to march through Nottingham city centre on May 4 as fans of the film series celebrate its unofficial ‘holiday’.
Star Wars Day happens on May 4 each year, having originated from a pun on the film phrase ‘May the force be with you’.

Hide AdCostumed characters from the East Midlands Garrison, including a stormtrooper, will march from the Motorpoint Arena at 10.30am on Saturday.
On June 8 and June 9 the arena will host the 2024 Em-Con, with thousands of film and television fans from across the country hoping to meet their favourite stars.
Guests to appear at his year’s event include Star Wars actor Warwick Davis and BBC Robin Hood stars Jonas Armstrong and Lucy Griffiths.
Other notable guests include Sir Tony Robinson, Warwick Davis and Kris Marshall, who will all be available for photos and autographs.

Hide AdThe route for Saturday’s March will take the characters from the Motorpoint Arena to the city centre, before finishing at the Forbidden Planet shop at 11.45am.
Members of the public will be able to have their picture taken with the Star Wars characters and there is no need to book.
