Try and spot yourself in our Nottingham Goose Fair gallery from years gone by

This week marks the start of the 2024 Goose Fair, with hundreds of thousands of people set to descend upon the Forest Recreation Ground over the next two weeks.

With just two days to go until the start of this year’s event, the countdown to 10 days of fairground fun has well and truly begun.

This year’s fair - taking place between September 27 and October 6 - will feature more than 350 rides and attractions as well as dozens of food and drink stalls. 

Over the years the event has grown to become one of the largest travelling funfairs in Europe.

It’s thought that the Goose Fair name is linked to the event’s early years when live animals were sold. 

To celebrate the start of this year’s Goose Fair, we’re taking a look back at previous events.
