Rock City giving up-and-coming musicians a chance to headline at iconic Nottingham venue
Previous festivals have helped to launch the careers of major stars including Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi
Up-and-coming Nottingham musicians are being invited to apply to open an iconic city festival later this year.

The successful artist will have the opportunity to open the Dot to Dot Festival at Rock City on May 26.
The competition, named Future Sound of Nottingham (FSN), is being run by local music organisation Nusic, who aim to help budding Notts artists launch their careers.
Previous FSN winners have opened the main stage at Nottingham Splendour Festival.
But with Splendour Festival taking a break this year, the winning musician will instead open the Dot to Dot Festival at Rock City.
Six finalists will get the chance to have their music listened to by five music industry professionals, who will not only decide the winner, but also give precise, positive and constructive feedback.
Launched in 2005, the Dot to Dot Festival sees artists play in Nottingham, Bristol and Manchester over the course of a weekend.

Previous festivals have helped to launch the careers of musicians such as Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi.
A spokesperson for DHP said: “We’re really pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for Nottingham’s music scene.
“Dot To Dot is one of the perfect festivals for a new artist to perform in front of an audience of music lovers who are looking to discover something new, we can’t wait to hear the entrants and find out who’ll be joining us!”
Entries close at 11.59pm on Monday, April 1 and winning finalists will be announced on Monday, April 8.
