Bistro Live is the top rated restaurant in Nottingham with fans taking to Tripadvisor to say: “Amazing friendly staff we had a lovely young waiter looking after us called Dev he looked after us all even had a dance with us he really made are night”

Le Mistral Sherwood

The French/European restaurant Le Mistral Sherwood, is in second place in Nottingham’s list of the best restaurants.

With special menus for Sunday night as well as Tuesday and Thursday when the restaurant hosts Eat in Moules Night, it’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner.

One Tripadvisor reviewer wrote: “Once again, a really good vegetarian Sunday lunch and great service from Cait and Adam. I heartily recommend this restaurant.”

The restaurant serves local produce as well as fresh fish straight from Looe in Cornwall, but the kitchen is closed on Mondays.

A Tripadvisor user said: “Beautiful old quirky pub in the village of Lambley. Well what can I say about the food! The starters were fabulous. Absolutely amazing I has the steak medium rare and it was beautiful and the crumble was to die for. Staff lovely and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant”

Another user shared: “Lovely home cooked Sunday lunch, excellent size portion and a nice variety of choices on the menu including mussels, vegetarian options and very tasty puddings Friendly and efficient staff - they were happy to parcel up leftovers to bring home. Nawaab Saab is an Indian restaurant that is multi-award winning and located in Nuthall.

The restaurant made the finals at the 2021 British Curry Awards in the East Midlands and they also won the 2021 English Curry Awards for outstanding restaurant nationally.

One reviewer shared: “I treated my family to a birthday meal and couldn’t have booked a better place. The meals were all excellent, All the staff were very friendly, courteous (and patient) as we were spoilt for choice with the menu. Will definitely be coming back soon.”

Hungry Pumpkin

Hungry Pumpkin is a deli cafe with an extensive menu that includes breakfasts and lunches.

Based in Lace Market, the cafe is independent and family-run as they feel strongly about supporting independent businesses.

One user took to Tripadvisor to call the cafe a “gem” and added: “After a quick search for a breakfast cafe we decided to try this little place. What a find! It was lovely inside, the staff were great and the menu amazing. I was even able to swap an item on my breakfast no problem. The coffee is also delicious and far better than large chains. If only we lived nearer. Will definitely be back if we are in Nottingham again. Thank you guys”

Another shared: “We came across the Hungry Pumpkin by chance whilst walking around the Lace Market area of Nottingham. What a treat! Our lunches were delicious and the people serving us were happy, friendly and incredibly welcoming. If I lived in Nottingham, I’d be there every week. Fantastic.”

Oakdale Chippy Bakersfield takes the final spot on the list and although the restaurant is just a takeaway, it is highly reviewed by people who visit.

The restaurant is vegetarian friendly, as well as offering vegan and gluten free options.

One reviewer shared: “Came in and got an extra battered sausage & extra chips just because we had to wait maybe 5 mins for food (which we had no problem doing) Got home & the food was fabulous as usual!”

Another Tripadvisor user shared: “Had the lovely pleasure of popping in here with the family on friday night on a whim. The staff were wonderful, making light conversation whilst we waited for our food to be made. The food was awesome, with great portion sizes and tasted fabulous. Will certainly be making this our go-to chippy from now on.”
