After six weeks of build-up the 2024 general election is nearly upon us. 

On Thursday, July 4, millions of people across the country will head to the polls for the fourth time since 2015. 

Here in Nottingham candidates will be battling it out to be named MP for one of three constituencies - Nottingham East, Nottingham South and Nottingham North and Kimberley. 

This is the first time Nottingham North and Kimberley will be contested, with the constituency created following a 2023 boundary review. 

This is the first general election where voters must show photographic ID before casting their ballot. 

Examples of valid IDs include passports, driving licences and bus passes.
