Notts police officers had their own Hot Fuzz moment last week when they were sent to rescue a swan.

It was a fowl day at work for Nottinghamshire police officers who were called to rescue a swan from the M1 last week.

The bird felt the long neck of the law when it was captured by officers and returned safely to Attenborough Nature Reserve just outside of the city.

A tweet (or should that be honk?) from Nottinghamshire police said: "Our officers weren’t swanning about last week when a swan needed rescuing from the M1.

"It was the swan's turn for a ride in a police car but thankfully it was heading to much sunnier climes than a custody suite," the tweet continued. "The swan was returned to the Attenborough Nature Reserve."

Luckily the duty officers got photographic evidence of this un-beak-able Hot Fuzz moment for us to enjoy. The rescue appeared to go swimmingly.
