The Nottingham parks and places closed this weekend due to flooding


Flood warnings remain in place for Nottingham today (Friday, January 5) after Storm Henk brought water levels on the River Trent to their highest since 2000.
Nottinghamshire County Council yesterday (Thursday, January 4) declared a major incident due to flooding, warning members of the public to stay away from swollen rivers.

Hide AdKey tributaries that feed into the River Trent, including the River Derwent, the River Soar and the River Dove, have already reached their peaks and high water levels will now pass down the Trent, which is likely to lead to flooding to properties and roads.

Residents who live in the flood-risk areas are asked to ensure they have preparations in place in case they are asked to evacuate.
The flooding has caused significant travel disruption after roads became impassable.

Hide AdHolme Pierrepoint Country Park
Due to adverse weather conditions the following areas on site are closed until further notice:
The Country Park.
The Regatta Lake including the path surrounding.
The White Water Course and paths situated near the course
The Main Lakeside building Car Park and Gym will remain open.
Attenborough Nature Reserve and Centre
Water levels at the reserve are currently “extremely high” due to heavy rain brought by Storm Henk.
The site is currently inaccessible by car as a result of the flooding.

Hide AdQueen’s Drive Park and Ride
Queen’s Drive Park and Ride is closed until further notice due to flooding.
The Ferry Boat Inn is closed due to flooding of surrounding roads. An update will be posted on Facebook ahead of the Inn reopening.
