Spring is the perfect time to start exploring the stunning natural beauty that Nottinghamshire has to offer.

The good thing about Nottinghamshire being slap-bang in the middle of the country is that it’s never too far from anywhere else.

Just to the north-west of Nottingham lies the Peak District, which boasts dozens of picturesque towns and villages.

Many of these, such as Bakewell and Castleton, are well-publicised.

The beautiful village of Baslow

Just over an hour’s drive from Nottingham is the small village of Baslow.

Located on the banks of the River Derwent, just north-east of Bakewell, Baslow is one of the Peak District’s hidden gems.
