A yellow weather warning for snow has been issued across Nottingham

Don't rush to put away your winter coats just yet, because the Met Office has predicted two days of snow here in Nottingham.

A yellow weather warning for snow has been issued by the forecaster, starting tomorrow (Thursday, February 8) and lasting until Friday (February 9).

Other nearby cities including Derby, Sheffield, Doncaster and Leicester are also impacted by the warning.

The national forecaster has warned of potential disruption to travel and the possibility of rural communities becoming "cut off" as a result of the snow.

A whopping 11 hours of snow has been forecast for Nottingham by the Met Office.

The forecaster has said flurries will start at 8am tomorrow and continue until 6pm. Sleet showers are expected throughout the day too.

The Apple Weather App shows snow is expected to arrive slightly earlier at around 5am.

As expected temperatures are set to be low tomorrow with highs of around 3C reported across the board.

Snow isn't likely to continue into Friday but the yellow weather warning remains in place until the early hours as a precaution.

Met Office officials have also said there is a chance services such as mobile phone coverage may be affected by the upcoming weather.

They have also warned of potential disruption to road, rail and air travel.
