It has now emerged that the shop closed due to issues with its landlord.
A spokesperson for Patisserie Valerie told Nottingham World: “Unfortunately, we were unable to agree renewal terms with the landlord and this is why we have been forced to close.”
The cafe, which opened in late 2012, has now been removed from the company’s website.

At the start of February, the PRYZM nightclub in Lower Parliament Street closed in similar circumstances to Patisserie Valerie, having also failed to reach an agreement with its landlord.
