McDonald’s has become the latest business to shut near to Lister Gate since the demolition of the Broadmarsh shopping centre in 2018.

Staff will be relocated to other nearby restaurants, a McDonald’s spokesperson told NottinghamWorld.

One of four McDonald’s restaurants in the city centre, the fast-food chain also has branches on Angel Row, Clumber Street and Milton Street.

The spokesperson added: “The decision to close the restaurant was not taken lightly.

“All members of staff have been made aware and have been relocated to nearby restaurants, as part of the same franchising organisation.”
