Independent Loughborough coffee shop Public & Plants is set to open its first site in Nottingham with a new café in Low Pavement.

Each of its coffee shops offers a unique interior style reflecting its location, as well as a ‘jungle’ of houseplants and handmade pots, provided by local independent florists, which are available to purchase.

The 3,500 sq ft site, located inside a former bank, will be open to the public in August following an intensive renovation project.

Featuring a 'Japan meets Copenhagen' aesthetic, the café will house dozens of houseplants and vintage antiques, creating an avant-garde atmosphere for customers to relax and enjoy a range of drinks and snacks.

Many of the Grade II listed building’s original features will remain as the premises transitions from a bank to a dog-friendly coffee shop.

David Hallam, managing director of Public & Plants, said: “Nottingham has a fantastic independent offering and a lively city centre, filled with professionals, students and families, making it the perfect location for our first site outside Leicestershire.

“Our coffee shop offers a communal space for everyone, whether it's friends catching up over coffee, someone looking for a quiet space to read a book, or a student working in between classes.

“The rise in popularity of brunch has also meant that our coffee shop often has an incredible buzz all week long too.”
