Vicky McClure's new six-part drama Insomnia to air on Paramount Plus this week - how to watch it
The psychological thriller airs on Thursday (May 23)
A new six-part drama starring Vicky McClure is to air on streaming platform Paramount Plus this week.
All episodes of psychological thriller Insomnia will be available to stream in the UK from tomorrow (Thursday, May 23).
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough, which was released in 2022.
It focuses on successful career woman Emma Averill (played by McClure) who stops sleeping a week before her 40th birthday.
On the night of her birthday, Emma has a violent psychotic breakdown - just as her mother did before her 40th birthday.
As events worsen, Emma's world starts to unravel and she realises that only by investigating the truth of her painful past, can she find the answers to her present and prevent tragedy from striking a second time.
As insomnia takes hold, Emma starts wandering into ponds and talking to empty doorways.
So far the series has had a mixed critical reception, with both the Telegraph and Standard rating it two stars out of five.
Paramount Plus plans start from £6.99 a month, but you can claim a seven-day free trial before the subscription auto-renews.
