We can’t wait for this!

A “state-of-the-art” drone show is set to illuminate the skies above West Bridgford later this year.

On Saturday, December 7, the Charles Dicken classic A Christmas Carol will be brought to life by more than 100 drones flying above Trent Bridge.

Using the very latest technology, the drones will take spectators on a journey through Christmas’s past, present and future.

Back in April the cricket ground held its inaugural drone show called Evolution in-front of several thousand people.

The event is being organised by drone technology pioneers Celestial, who stage shows across the world.

The event is suitable for families and individuals of all ages to enjoy, with tickets on sale now.

Joe Sharphouse, Head of Commercial Sales at Trent Bridge, said: "We were blown away by the success of Yuup and Celestial's first drone light show at our home, and we can't wait to see how the timeless story of A Christmas Carol is re-interpreted this winter.

"With this show being held in December, we'll be able to begin the light show at a much earlier time of day, and we're sure it will make for compelling viewing for visitors of all ages, from young children to grown-up event-goers.

"Alongside the return of the Notts Street Food Festival and Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, we're looking forward to welcoming visitors throughout the year, for so much more than just cricket."

Gates will open at 3:30pm, with food and drink outlets serving a variety of refreshments while a live DJ plays ahead of the show starting at 5:30pm.
