Hide AdNo reason has been provided as to why the store, which has served the local community for more than five decades, will close.
A spokesperson for Co-op told Nottingham World: “Co-op regularly reviews its stores. In addition to opening new stores we sometimes – and only after careful consideration – have to take the difficult decision to close a store.
“With the expiry of the lease our store in the Bridgeway Centre will close. Colleagues, who have been informed, are being fully supported with every effort being taken to offer alternative positions in the area. We would like to thank the community for its support of this store.”
The spokesperson highlighted that there are a number of Co-op stores within a mile of the Bridgeway Centre, including those at Station Street, Trent Bridge and Trent Boulevard.
