Arboretum: Magical Nottingham park named one of the 'quietest' places in the UK

Hide AdPeace and quiet is obviously difficult to find if you live in a city, as opposed to the countryside where you can sometimes walk for hours without seeing another soul.

Fortunately, there are plenty of green spaces in Nottingham that are relatively quiet compared to other parts of the city, but which one really is the quietest?
Well, nature sounds streaming service Earth.fm has done some research and concluded the quietest areas in cities across the world.
The research from Earth.fm analysed visitor reviews for mentions of ‘quiet’, ‘relaxing’, ‘tranquil’, ‘calm’, and ‘peaceful’.

Hide AdThis, and several other factors, were the used to create a ‘Quiet Score’ for each location.
In terms of Nottingham’s peaceful spots, it turns out that the Arboretum is the quietest place in the city.
With a ‘Quiet Score’ of 6.8, the Arboretum was ranked by Earth.fm as the 6th-quietest place in the UK.
Nottingham’s oldest public park, the Arboretum was opened in May 1852 and many of the original trees remain in situ today.

Hide AdThe park is widely said to have been the inspiration for J.M. Barrie’s Neverland, where Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinker Bell live.
Earth.fm’s research rated other city locations such as the War Memorial Gardens and St Ann’s Allotments as top spots to get some peace and quiet.
