Today, we're telling you about a stunning little pub located in the impressive town of Southwell, just a few miles from Nottingham city centre.

The aptly named Final Whistle is located at the end of a former railway line that once connected the town to the Midland Railway network.

The railway line was extended to Southwell in 1847 and saw its final service in 1964. Today, it is enjoyed as a local nature trail.

The pub itself resembles a railway station, boasting a train platform (patio) and an array of railway-themed memorabilia.

There is even a booth near the bar that has been designed to look like a first-class carriage.

The Good Food Club said: "This place is all about beer, not food, and is a wonderful example of a traditional British hostelry."

That said the pub often plays host to a series of food pop-ups, including tacos and nachos and even a special pie night. Yum.

The Final Whistle has a rating of four out of five stars on TripAdvisor and has been hailed by customers as an "excellent pub for real ale enthusiasts", while another described it as "the best pub in Southwell".

Another bonus of this cute pub is that it is completely dog-friendly, making it an ideal stop-off after a weekend walk.
