In order to rank the best seaside resorts, researchers analysed a variety of metrics including beach review scores, number of restaurants and Airbnb prices per week.

These were then used to create an average ‘seaside resort score’ for each destination.

The research determined that Brighton is the number one coastal resort to visit this summer, boasting an average seaside resort score of 8.23/10.

The East Sussex city boasted the most restaurants (907), cafes (112), and things to do (674) compared to all seaside resorts analysed.
