When Vicky speaks, we listen!

We may be biased, but Nottingham is definitely a foodie’s (and drinkie’s) paradise.

Whether you’re after Michelin Star fine dining restaurants or a big juicy burger, the city really does have something for everyone.

Such are the hundreds of fantastic food and drink options sprawled across Nottingham, it can sometimes be difficult to pick somewhere to try.

Granted, this is a nice problem to have and speaks volumes about how lucky we are to have so many quality restaurants, bars, and cafes.

One way to narrow down where best to visit is by listening to someone in the know.

This can, of course, come from online reviews, but they aren’t always the most reliable way to gauge where’s hot and where’s not.

If you can find someone who lives and breathes the city’s food scene - a through and through Nottingham resident - then you’ll be on to a winner.

It’s fair to say that they don’t come much more Nottingham than television star Vicky McClure.

Wollaton born and bred, our Vicky knows the city like the back of her hand, so her opinion is definitely qualified when it comes to food and drink spots.

A few years ago Vicky did an interview with Visit Nottinghamshire in which she shared her favourite places in her home city.

One of these just so happens to be a highly-rated bar in Warser Gate called Dino.

Speaking of her love for the bar, Vicky said: “I really like it here, the food is really tasty and it has a really cosy feel to it.

“I often go there with my mum after a long day's shopping in town, glass of wine, sometimes live music, perfect combination.”

With an impressive 4.5/5 TripAdvisor rating, it’s certainly not just Vicky who gives Dino the seal of approval.

Open each day apart from Sunday and Monday, the bar also offers a tasty lunch and dinner menu, where customers can choose from both light bites and main meals.

One recent visitor told TripAdvisor: “Visited Dinos for Saturday lunch. It was my very first time at this restaurant and all I can say is what an amazing experience from start to finish.

“Staff were great, very professional and polite. Food was first class and of great value for Nottingham and the area we were in.

“I would highly recommend this amazing place and it will most certainly not be my last. Thank you and look forward to my next visit to Dino.”
