These phenomenal restaurants are some of our favourites in the city!

Next week (on February 5th) the coveted Michelin Guide will be released for 2024.

The Guide, which is often regarded as the foodie bible, highlights the best of the UK food and drink scene.

To be awarded a coveted Michelin Star a restaurant must show culinary excellence, personality, exemplary service, mastery of flavours, and offer value for money.

Here in Nottingham, we have three long-standing Michelin-Star restaurants.

Restaurant Sat Bains holds two stars and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability. While Alchemilla and John's House hold one star each.

The Waggon at Halam

We're big believers that sometimes the best meals are the most unexpected. And The Waggon at Halam near Newark is one of those hidden gems.

This pub has exceptional word-of-mouth reviews, with customers praising its exemplary fayre, attention to detail, and surprisingly sophisticated atmosphere.

One reviewer on TripAdvisor even hailed it "the best place to dine out, by far".

Menu highlights include a sumptuous soufflé and maple glazed ham hock with leek mash.

World Service

World Service has an outstanding reputation here in Nottingham.

Located just a short walk from Nottingham Castle, it is often regarded as one of the city's best-loved eateries.

It serves modern British cuisine with influences across the globe and its unique menu has led to it obtaining an AA Rosette.

A La Carte menu highlights include sea bass, salt-roasted celeriac and walnut brioche pudding.

Kushi-Ya

Although it may not yet have a star, Kushi-ya already features proudly in the Michelin guide.

This Japanese restaurant comes highly recommended by one of Nottingham's top chefs and has a string of amazing reviews online.

The small but perfectly formed restaurant is all the rage at the moment, with many eager customers struggling to get a table due to popular demand.

Menu highlights include an assortment of epic skewers and kabocha squash croquettes.

Sans Patrie

It's a rarity to find a restaurant with a perfect 5 stars on TripAdvisor but Sans Patrie has exactly that.

One reviewer said it was potentially the best meal they have ever had. High praise indeed.

This little independent restaurant serves epic five and six-course tasting menus.

Winter highlights include Caramac Namelaka and Pumpkin Ricotta Ravioli.

Cleaver & Wake

Cleaver & Wake offers a "modern, elevated dining experience". It offers refined dishes from the best British producers and has even been featured in the Sunday Times.

Reviewers have described Cleaver & Wake as "first-rate cooking" with "very attentive service".

Menu highlights include miso glazed salmon, highland venison and treacle tart.
