A “lavish” village near Nottingham is one of the poshest in Britain, according to a national newspaper.
Newtown Linford, just over the border in Leicestershire, has been included in the Daily Mail’s list of the 29 poshest villages in Britain.

Hide AdThe list, published in April, was published after the Mail analysed factors including crime rates, schools and local amenities.
Home to just over 1,000 people, Newtown Linford is located just north of Leicester, around 30 minutes from Nottingham.
Newtown Linford named as one of Britain’s poshest villages by the Daily Mail
The Daily Mail said: “Nestled in amongst the Charnwood Forest, Newtown Linford has become a real magnet for millionaires who have made their home behind lavish gated mansions.
“Local amenities include a private members club, a close proximity to Bradgate Park, as well as a rare police box.”
House prices in Newtown Linford have an overall average of £1,162,500 over the last year, according to Rightmove.
The village features two pubs, a café and a cricket ground.
