Mooching around the fun plants, gifts, and garden furniture, is truly one of life’s simplest pleasures.

And a Bank Holiday weekend feels like the perfect excuse to visit one.

Whether you’re going with a long list of things to buy, or just simply want to while away a few hours - it’s a great way to spend an afternoon.

Luckily we’re not short of lovely garden centres to visit near Nottingham - each catering to your outdoor needs.

Among our favourites is East Bridgford Garden & Home.

The flagship, Blue Diamond Garden Centre that’s located just outside of Nottingham is a real treat.

It boasts two restaurants, Cafe Home & Garden and The Greenhouse Kitchen both of which serve fresh homemade food.

It prides itself on sourcing and selling unusual items, offering one-off décor for both your home and garden.

It is also home to Brown and Green an ethical artisan food store that sells everything from the essentials to gourmet cheeses.

Brown and Green is a must-visit for foodies who are conscious about sustainability. The farm shop supports local producers and is vigilant about the ethics involved in the production of food.
