These 15 Nottinghamshire pubs are among England's best for character and history, according to The Telegraph

A national newspaper has included 15 Nottinghamshire pubs in its list of the top 500 best in the country.

Today (Friday, July 4), The Telegraph has launched its inaugural guide to The 500 Best Pubs in England.

The pubs have been picked by The Telegraph’s Will Hawkes, who has visited thousands of pubs across the country over the years.

All pubs on the list have been recognised for their charming character, welcoming staff, rich history and award-winning beer.

Mr Hawkes said: “I’ve visited every ceremonial county in England, and every pub on my list. This is not my final verdict.

“I’ll be keeping a close eye on my selections, making sure they deserve to remain.

“If standards drop, they’ll get the chop, giving other pubs the chance to replace them. I’d love to hear your opinions too.”
