The pub’s front windows are now covered by temporary brown sheets, which include phrases such as “solid coffee”, “great beer” and “warm welcome”.

Fellows, Morton & Clayton has been vacant since the summer, when it closed shortly after reopening.

The iconic city centre pub, which is owned by Stonegate Group, was originally a Victorian office building for the coal carrying company of the same name.

From November 20, Fellows, Morton and Clayton will be open 11am to 11pm Monday to Thursday, 11am to midnight on Friday and Saturday and until 10pm on Sundays.

The Grade II listed building is near to the Via Fossa pub, which closed in October.
