Foster’s are offering free pints in the Nottingham pub following some interesting results from a survey conducted in May this year such as the fact that 32 per cent of pub goers admit to exaggerating the tales they tell in the pub, with 87 per cent of these people also saying they’d love the chance to prove their banter was true.

More specifically, here are the top ten things that people exaggerate about when in the pub: How funny a night out actually was, how much they spent on things, how many partners they have had, how many times they got chatted up on a night out, how far you can run, swim or cycle, overstating how fancy their holiday hotel was, overstating their cooking prowess, overstating their seniority at work, overstating their tolerance to spicy food and lastly, overstating how much they earn.

The research was commissioned by Foster’s, who created the ‘Cock and Bull Detector’ with the help of a professional polygraph examiner to help pub goers’ prove the incredible stories they tell down the pub are true, rather than a load of cock and bull.

To launch the Foster’s Cock and Bull Detector, TV personality Tom Skinner visited the Bull Inn to test the machine for himself.

He said: “I’m often called out for telling stories that people think are cock and bull… I was thrilled that Foster’s have created the Cock and Bull Detector to show that I was telling the truth once and for all.”

In light of this, now is the time to encourage your friends and family of Nottingham to visit their local and enjoy a drink as they tell their epic tales.
