How could I not know about a Nottingham tea room in the heart of the city centre no less?
Debbie Bryan is an art café that moved into a central location a few months’ ago.

Hide AdHoused in the same building as Tokenhouse gift shop, it came as something of a surprise when I spotted the word ‘tea’ on an assuming flyer and glanced up the stairs.
I hadn’t expected to find a full blown tea room, and it took me a few seconds to take in the space’s beauty.
Filled with local artwork, craft items and more, the space doubles up as a creative space where workshops take place.
It is also one of the quaintest tea rooms I have come across this year.

Hide AdRustic wood, dainty crockery, traditional cafetières filled with freshly brewed independent coffee made the tea room all the more beguiling.
I ordered a light-as-air scone that was wonderfully warm to the touch.
Arriving with clotted cream and a small pot of strawberry conserve, the cream tea at Debbie Bryan’s was something I did not know I needed in my life.
There is much to love about the tea room.

When I spoke to Debbie, she said the tea room had made the move across town to the more central location.

Apart from being a kind, smiling person, I love what Debbie has created in the unexpected space at St Peter’s Gate.
The tea room also serves a variety of light luncheon items such as soup with artisan bread, sandwiches, flapjacks, crumbles and more.

Debbie Bryan’s tea room should be a must-visit place on anyone’s list.
It will fill your stomach with the most luscious food, and soothe your soul by virtue of you being in a calming, serene space right in the heart of bustling Nottingham city centre.
I live in Derby and I am already planning my next trip to the tea room, because those scones now live rent-free in my head.
