A restaurant in the East Midlands is shortlisted for the Good Food Guide Awards 2025, vying against prestigious venues like The Ritz.

The Good Food Guide Awards 2025 shortlist has been announced today (Wednesday, January 8, 2025) and an East Midlands restaurant has made the cut.

Restaurant Jericho is on the shortlist for Restaurant of the Year.

Based in the village of Plungar, Vale of Belvoir, the critically acclaimed eatery - it also appears on the prestigious Opiniated About Dining website - is situated 35 miles away from Derby city centre.

Dishes from Restaurant Jericho’s sample menu include chicken breast with kimchi, dry aged pork with buttermilk and prunes, and apple pasty with white Stilton and honey.

The Good Food Guide runs the awards in partnership with OpenTable.

It aims to recognise chefs and restaurateurs who have earned their place at the top over the past year.

The website says of the nominees: ‘They’re the people refreshing our palates, restoring our faith in eating out and blowing us away with dishes, flavours and creativity that redefines the landscape of eating out in Britain.’

All winners will be announced at The Good Food Guide Awards on Monday February 3, 2025.
