Modern aparthotel in Nottingham city centre is a luxurious home away from home

It’s always nice spending a few days away from home, even if you’ve not actually travelled that far from where you live. 

But these days a short break can still set you back several hundred pounds. 

Once you chuck in food, drink and activities, it can often be cheaper to go abroad than opting for a UK city break. 

However, if you do your research beforehand, a weekend away doesn’t have to break the bank. 

With a vibrant nightlife, restaurants and arts scene, Nottingham city centre is the perfect place to spend a couple of days. 

With hundreds of hotels in the city it can be difficult to choose one for a short stay. 

I was invited by The Stay Company - which offers luxury accommodation in Nottingham and Derby - to try one of their apartments in Whitefriars House. 

Located just around the corner from Old Market Square, the accommodation is smack bang in the middle of the city centre. 

With two double beds, two bathrooms, and a huge kitchen diner, the apartment represents great value when compared to the cost of staying in a traditional hotel. 

For reference, the average cost of a room at a Premier Inn in the city is around £50 per night.

On arrival, I was welcomed by a selection of hot drink sachets, biscuits and cereal - which certainly came in handy!

Complete with utilities including a dishwasher, fridge and oven, the apartment really is a home away from home. 

I was instantly impressed with how clean and modern all aspects of the accommodation were, particularly the two bathrooms which were both spotless. 

The kitchen diner also includes a large television where guests can enjoy complimentary access to streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. 

If you’re not fussed about heading out for tea, the kitchen has all the utensils you could need to rustle up a tasty meal. 

The double bed was ridiculously comfortable and it was a struggle to get up both mornings!

With free, speedy WIFI across the building, Whitefriars House is a great place to stay while on business. 

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with The Stay Company in Whitefriars House and wouldn’t hesitate about staying there again in the future.
