We all know that, as a whole, Nottingham is a great city to live.
We’re now at the start of 2025, so many of us will now be thinking about the big decisions we might make over the coming year.
If you’re thinking of moving house this year, deciding where to move to can be a difficult process.
These cool areas of the city offer a perfect blend of stunning parks, independent shops and top restaurants.
We’ve done some digging and picked out five of the coolest Nottingham neighbourhoods for 2025 and - most importantly - what makes them great.

2. The Lace Market
The Lace Market is arguably the coolest part of Nottingham. If you live here, then there's a good chance that you're a bit of a culture vulture. With independents restaurants, cafes and bars, the Lace Market certainly has similarities to the vibrant streets of Brooklyn. | John Sutton Photo: John Sutton
3. Woodthorpe
If you're looking for somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but without moving too far away, Woodthorpe is a great shout. The relaxed vibe of the area, particularly at the luscious Woodthorpe Grange Park, makes this neighbourhood a cool place to live. 4. The Park Estate
We all knew that the Park Estate was going to be on this list, but it's worth remembering why it's such a cool place to live. Nestled to the west of Nottingham Castle, living in the Park Estate is like stepping back in time. With gas-powered street lights and leafy streets, it's easy to forget that the neighbourhood is located in a city centre. There are so many great restaurants and cafes located just a short walk from the Park Estate, so you won't need to worry about cooking every night! | Steve Cadman Photo: Steve Cadman
