Fence-Tastic: Nottinghamshire developer backs festival with long-term donation
A housebuilder in Bingham has strengthened its long-standing support of the town’s summer festival by donating 350 metres of event fencing to help secure the future of the growing community celebration.
Barratt Homes North Midlands, which is building new homes at its Romans’ Quarter development in Bingham, has been supporting BFest for the past four years by providing the organisers with Heras fencing to safely enclose the festival grounds.
The annual music festival, held on the grounds of Bingham Town Sports Club, welcomes around 2,500 attendees each year and is returning for its ninth stint on Saturday 12th July. Performers this year include popular tribute acts such as Oasish, Wannabe – The Spice Girls Show, local favourites The Moderators, and many more.
Previously, Barratt Homes would provide and store the fencing for each annual event. However, now that organisers have secured their own storage facilities, the developer has permanently handed over the 350 panels – each measuring three and a half metres – to support the long-term running of BFest.

The donation marks a significant moment for the festival, opening new opportunities for event sponsorship. With the fencing now in permanent use, organisers are planning to brand the perimeter with sponsor logos and promotional messages, helping to encourage smaller, local businesses to support the event through more accessible donation opportunities.
Elizabeth Hutchinson, one of the organisers of BFest, said: “We’re so grateful to Barratt Homes for its continued support and generosity.
“The fencing has always played a crucial role in creating a safe and secure space for our guests and, now that it’s ours to keep, we have so many new possibilities for how we can use it to grow the festival. This opens up the door to wider community involvement and makes it easier for small, local businesses to get involved as sponsors.
“I’ve seen first-hand the fantastic community that’s grown at Romans’ Quarter, and it’s great to have Barratt Homes’ backing for an event that brings the whole town together.”
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “BFest is a fantastic example of the community spirit that makes Bingham such a great place to live.
“We are proud to have played a role in the festival’s success over the past few years and are delighted to be handing over the fencing to support its future. We look forward to seeing the event continue to flourish and bring people together.”
