I am Megan a third year trainee journalist at Nottingham Trent University, with a keen
interest in news and sharing stories important to local communities. I am originally from
North London but have been based in Nottingham for the last three years as I complete my
degree. In my short time as a student journalist I have written stories which cover a large
range of topics, from cold water swimming to interviewing the iconic 90’s band East-17. I
have a keen interest in Feminism and news sharing as well as politics. I am also currently a
Guide leader in Nottingham for the charity Girlguiding which is one of my main passions
outside of journalism. I have written for news organisations such as the Nottingham Post as
well as my university magazine Platform, where I have had many new experiences, including
covering the Sam Ryder concert as press at Nottingham Trent’s Student Union. In my spare
time I enjoy reading, crocheting, listening to music and going to concerts, especially Harry
Styles, Louis Tomlinson and One Direction. In the future as a journalist, I hope to share
stories which communities care about and give a voice to people who have important news
to share with the world. I would also like to raise awareness of different charities and the
work that they do as I am a keen volunteer for Girlguiding and have been in the organisation
for 16 years.
